established in 2007, is the company through which Sally Knudson provides reservoir engineering services to the UKCS oil and gas industry.
During nearly 30 years working in the industry Sally has chosen to specialise in the practice of reservoir engineering. Followng 10 years grounding in staff roles within operators (BP, Kerr McGee and BG) she has worked as a consultant for numerous companies. Her CV provides details of the many projects she has worked on and the diverse companies involved.
Sally graduated from Bath University with a First Class Honours in Mathematics. On graduating her only desire was a job solving problems that hadn't been solved before. She was tired of reproducing solutions too known problems. Her father (Peter Gratton), a Nuclear Physicist with the AEA, was working on a collabration with the Department of Energy to provide technical support monitoring UKCS Oil and Gas operators plans. He suggested a job in reservoir engineering. Advice well made. After 30 years she is still faced with problems that have not been solved before.
Working as a consultant has many benefits. A drawback can be the the feeling that, on a day rate, you are percieved by your client as a 'mental prositute'. In 2008, at 50 years of age, Sally was inspired by a series of projects involving; reverse engineering, unmanaged expectations and poor team management, to take a sabbatical from contract work.
Since the start of 2009 Sally has had the opportunity to develop her ideas aimed at promoting engineering into inititaives. Passionate about reservoir engineering it has given Sally much pleasure to capture her thoughts, those of others and research the work being done by others in this area. That pleasure has been the reward for her investment of time and finances.
