Diversity Awareness

Over the past two years the visibility of the UKCS oil and gas industry efforts to promote and manage  Diversity in the workplace has increased;

• Posit+ve Energy - An independent Women's Network - was launched in 2007
• London SPE Section commenced an annual 'Women in the Industry' Conference in 2008
• Shell published a technical paper show casing their Diversity and Inclusion Strategy in 2008
• Aberdeen SPE Section launched the 'Another Perspective' initiative in 2009

Major corporations are known to be be active in this area but their efforts are less visible to those outside their corporations.

There is much commentary on Diversity emerging in generic terms in the media, literature and within corporations. While there is plenty of scope to 'wax lyrical' on the topic this websites commentary is limited to the following;
